I have 2 of these goals. The first one was perfect and when we needed a second goal after moving in, I rushed to buy our second one. However, in the second case there is a downside. Our second gate had a problem closing or opening. This could be fixed with some oil but I am deducting a star as they were brand new. What makes these goals great: They are attractive to look at. Unlike other single door gates, this door is actually spacious and does not require people to pass through. Funny fitting. He survived the abuse of my children well. The opening mechanism is easy enough to use without training, while my 2 year old still can't open it. *** Updated after a month of using the gate where the problems were getting worse. It gets stuck closed or jams when lifted and prevents it from closing/latching. I love my summer goal but this second goal is giving me more and more headaches. If your gate works after securing it, keep it, but if there are problems, don't try to fix it, just return it! ** Update 2 after 2 years / 3 years usage. My husband ended up using pliers to adjust the piece of metal that fits the questionable gate. We still use both goals with no further problems. I'm increasing my rating from 3 to 4 stars, but I still advise you to keep an eye on quality control. We use this gate on our kitchen entrance and stairwell. They open and close multiple times a day and still work great!
