Either a detail is missing or it's not intuitive to put the three pieces together correctly. I just realized this while taking a break from writing this review. Here's the thing: Apparently I received a returned item that wasn't properly assembled by the original buyer. The box with the goods was unsealed and slightly wrinkled. At that point I had to return it for the seller's penny. I could slide one section into another and it would slide in or out, but the locking mechanism was on the other end of the middle section, down behind the bucket, so it wouldn't snap. Or I could insert the end where the latch was on into the handle section but it wouldn't slide in. After scratching my head for a while, I pulled the latch very hard (I thought it would break - so it was plastic). But it turned out to be very difficult. Then with a lot of effort I was able to slide the latch onto the handle part and then slip the center piece into the handle part and voila - the latch closed and it worked. So one star for selling a used and misassembled unit and one star for no clear direction other than simply sliding the two pieces together and locking the latch in the correct place. I had to guess to get the whole picture and fix the wrong block. Now it works fine. But come on sellers, don't resend returned units unless you've checked them carefully to make sure they're exactly as intended for sale to the buyer. I think it was a Mickey Mouse deal. The handle (fully extended) is just the right length so I don't have to bend down at all. The scoop has smaller holes than regular scoops - which is good if you're not using granules or larger than regular litter particles - it prevents small pieces of dried clumps of urine that have fallen apart from falling. I highly recommend this product, although I'm still mad at the seller for not helping with a 'used' unit that was assembled incorrectly. They blamed Revain, but I blamed them for not having control over their supply chain. They could have easily instructed Revain to either return the item to the seller or throw it away. Resending the product may cause buyer damage or dried cat stuff on it. Come on, wake up sellers!
