Update: WD has been exposed for misleading consumers with both SMRs and fake RPMs. Where is the zero score? I have installed a few dozen of these drives for NAS and other purposes. I have come to the conclusion that I will not buy it again. The first problem is the number of failures. I was expecting 1 or 2 failures, but I had 5. That's actually more than any other product I've had, even Seagate's infamous 1.5TB. The next question is the price. I don't feel like I'm getting anything special for my money. Finally, I tried using the website for an extended RMA but they wouldn't let me and I had to call support. I created a problem ticket from my account by logging into the support site and the first reply was my shipping and billing address. Are you seriously unable to access my account information and I need to email it? You cannot view the exchange of messages in the support portal either. This is just my first request. So WD burned the Red Disc Bridge here. I'll just do what the big guys do and buy the cheapest drive I can get and add my redundancy to the system. Let's get back to pulling the Seagate out of the cases.
