Very inaccurate: thermometers and timers

Beautiful, but incredibly inaccurate. Some deviation is expected for the hourglass. However, I've measured the one I got 5 times and it consistently counts down 25 minutes and 3 seconds, not half an hour. A more accurate piece is needed for my purposes (I give half-hour consultations). I will return it no matter how nice it looks.
