Bulter Dental Wax has worked well for me. A broken tooth from an unpopped popcorn seed in purple corn. Then the crown fell off leaving a very sharp, pointy edge that stung, clawed and bruised my tongue. Wasn't able to book a dentist appointment for three weeks and that was shortly after I protested the appointment originally offered in late August. Luckily I had a root canal so it didn't really hurt, other than my tongue catching on a sharp edge. The tooth wax came in two packs so it lasted about 3 weeks. Actually I only needed to use one package. After a bit of trial and error I found that as the hole was large due to the crown falling out I had to use three small squares. I squeezed them together, kneaded them a little to make them more flexible, pressed the wax tip and glued it to the hole. It worked pretty well. I was no longer stabbed with a sharp edge. It worked so well that I could even chew soft things on that side without the wax constantly coming off the tooth. However, I was quickly reminded of this when I was nudged again.
