The first check was correct as I assumed that there was no protective film. I even look for a tab or guide and can't find anything. I also couldn't find the edge of the film that would allow me to remove it if it was there. There were no instructions on the packaging or inside. Just before I sent this replacement back, I saw a note at the bottom of the product description on the Revain website that the film needed to be removed. I also saw the reviewer mention this fact. After finally removing the foil, the plastic visor is acceptable (transparent, but not without distortion). This was an unnecessary hassle as it could have been avoided with the instructions in the box. The visor is acceptable as received. In my revised review I give it 3 stars. Not bad for the price, but not a quality product. The headband and mesh screen are fine. The plastic visor/shield is unsuitable because it is NOT transparent. It could be described as translucent at best. You couldn't work while wearing a plastic umbrella because you couldn't see through it. Not sure what the problem is but I returned the first check for a replacement. The second plastic shield was exactly the same as the first. We'll send it back for a refund. Someone is wrong about how to assemble this product. I can't imagine that any responsible person or company would be able to send this or that a customer would accept a plastic sign that you can't see through.
