Installed on a bike stem that is larger in circumference than the clamp. However, managed to clamp and clamp it 3/4 of the stem fairly securely. I was able to tighten it just enough that it wouldn't move or vibrate. The rubber grips also hold the phone in place well. I took it on my first ride this morning, an hour-long cross-country mountain bike ride that included climbs, descents, crossing rocky rivers, and a fairly rigorous descent with jumps and drops in between. In general, he acted like a champ. I mounted it on the stem because I wanted it to be centered, but am thinking of moving it a bit to the side of the handlebars where the clamp is even more secure. In any case, we will see how it will work in the long term. I'm very curious to see if the rubber band will stretch and lose its elasticity causing the phone to fall out. But so far I've made the right purchase with confidence.
