I recently had the pleasure of testing out the MSA ALTAIR Pump Probe, and while it definitely gets the job done, it's not the most thrilling gas detector accessory out there. The battery-operated feature is a nice touch, but I found the North American approval and certification to be a bit redundant - I mean, if it wasn't safe in North America, why bother making it, right? The probe itself is easy to use and reliable, but let's be real - if I'm dropping cash on an accessory, I want a little pizzazz. Some flashing lights, a cool design, maybe even a superhero logo to make me feel like I'm saving the world from toxic gases. Overall, the MSA ALTAIR Pump Probe is a solid choice for the practical consumer, but if you're looking for something to spice up your gas detecting game, keep looking.
