Decent Security System - Good value for a homeowner. I love that video (being the wired guy) is MUCH FASTER than the wireless solution (which I also have but put it aside as it was too slow). Here is my breakdown of the system. PROS: 1: Excellent resolution and images day and night 2: Much faster than a wireless system 3: Really works on most smartphones and the phone speeds are NOT that bad 4: DOES NOT NEED to connect to a router (like the one that your internet company set it up for you). This in itself is a great benefit for being able to use the system when the company's phone/internet lines are down, such as when the office is busy. B. during hurricanes or other natural disasters. Of course, if you do NOT connect it to your home network, you will not be able to connect it to your MOBILE PHONE/DEVICE LINE. Affordable 24 inch monitor PERFECT for live video viewing or video playback. 7: I had to contact support because I didn't know WHICH power transformer goes to the DVR and which powers the 4 cameras. you contacted me came back quickly and instructed me to use a 2 amp transformer for the DVR unit and a 3 amp transformer to power the cameras. CONS: 1: The instructions are almost useless IMHO, making the installation and setup process VERY confusing NOT all the options listed in the manual will work on your device. 2: The plugin (which you can download and install from their website) is NOT installed on many computers. (tried on Windows 10 and Windows WS 7 machine no luck). The app for mobile phones etc., on the other hand, works on two of my smartphones. IF your smartphone DOES NOT have a QR code scanner, you can always search the internet for "VSS Mobile App” and then download/install it from there. 3: I am disappointed with the ability to slightly focus the camera up/down. , RIGHT/LEFT and ZOOM are NOT included in the system (although the manual shows this feature as well as the interface itself). Very confusing for the system owner trying to get this feature to work. You need to figure out WHERE to wire your camera to reach the DVR and where to put the unit and monitor. Generally +S beats -S. The video is stable even during violent thunderstorms when the wireless system is virtually UNUSABLE during a thunderstorm (EMF from lightning KILLS the wireless signal). It's also low on electricity (electricity) which makes it a good system to use with solar power as it won't drain your batteries too much to keep it going when the power is OFF (as it often is here in Florida the case is).
