These were the only 12 volt flickering led tiki torch lights I could find. I wanted 4 for a pontoon boat application that could be controlled with a single switch, and 4 for a backyard location that gets little sunshine. I had previously purchased solar powered ones which work fine when in a sunny location, but only turn on when it gets dark (not just dusk). These are a little smaller than the solar ones I bought but they are brighter and will work whenever I apply power, not just after it gets dark enough, and don't require a sunny location to recharge. For a backyard installation they require an optional voltage transformer (not included) and must have wiring run to them, but I knew that ahead of time. Overall I'm happy with them!
