For a secondary display adapter not intended for use as a mount I think it does a great job. I used to make my SE2417G a secondary monitor in "portrait" mode on my main computer and it worked great. It took a lot more effort to fit into the monitor than I expected, but I'm not worried about it slipping out. Installation on the arm with the monitor was also very easy; I was concerned that the included screws would scratch the back of the monitor, but there's still plenty of room now that it's installed. The "cable management" holes don't leave much room, and rotating the cables in the mount can be incredibly awkward. , but they work, and I see them as a little bonus rather than the main purpose of the adapter. Another issue is that the position of the VESA mount causes it to "tilt" in portrait mode. I attribute this to my monitor mounts rather than the adapter (I don't have the ability to tighten/restrict rotation) but the design of the adapter means the monitor is mounted fairly low on the screen and if it were more centered it could Not be. I'm pretty happy with it, grunt and all, and would recommend it.
