Review on Dapping Block Wood 2 Punches by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for beginners, hobbyists or professional blacksmiths, watchmakers, watchmakers or jewelers.

This is a great domed block for those just starting out in smithing and/or jewelry making. It's wood, so remember that it can only be used on soft metals like pure silver (no silver alloys), copper, gold, aluminum, brass, etc. Thinner materials, of course. It won't ruin the finish if you're careful. Personally, I like it because it's compact and fits nicely in my home watchmaker's phone booth, and I've used it to repair plate dents or even straighten wheels. A steel wrap kit won't work in this regard as it will either ruin the material or recycle the part if you are too aggressive. For the price it far exceeded my expectations. Most likely I will be buying another set as a spare in the near future.

Pros
  • DAPPING BLOCK: These tools are ideal for forming, shaping and stamping soft metal blanks.
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other pickaxes
