Suitable for beginner skaters after some adjustments. You should definitely use the included tool to loosen the wheels a bit before attempting to ride them. The wheels barely spin out of the box. It will feel like trying to ride in the mud if you don't loosen the wheels enough to spin freely. I've also loosened my carts, but that's a personal preference and will dictate how much your boots lean towards the wheels. The description says the skates come with ABEC-5 bearings. Mine came with ABEC-7 installed and two additional ABEC-7 bearings which are actually better than the 5's. A pleasant surprise. The boot itself has almost no ankle padding and has a basic insole. I added my own insoles for arch support but haven't figured out how to make the boot any more comfortable than wearing thick socks. Two wheels stopped glowing after being touched down twice. They match the feel of skating, but if you're upgrading things for more comfort or speed, it may make more sense to buy a better pair of skates if you want to skate.
