Review on 🎧 Power Acoustik HP12S IR Dual Channel Wireless Headphones by Craig Rossman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

In general, good headphones

First I must state that four stars (versus five) is at least partly my fault. I first bought these headphones because I hate messing with tangled cords, I hate how they hang off my arm when I'm at the computer and I hate how cords fray, especially with headphones. However, I assumed (yes, yes, I know) that they would work with my fairly new computer. Four stars primarily because they still didn't work after purchasing the IR emitter that plugs into my computer's headphone jack. The IR transmitter may be defective, the IR receiver of the headphones is defective, or I did something wrong. Spring. I bought them for wireless use but it never worked. I won't deduct more than one star without knowing for sure if the headphones are to blame. I hope when you buy them you have better luck than me. And now the good news. In all other aspects I found these headphones to be excellent. The price was great when I bought them. Right now they're on sale for less than $24. I have nothing to complain about the sound quality. Maybe someone who depends on the sound quality of $200 headphones is picky, but I had no issues with the tinny sound, bass and treble were fine. Being used to headphones in the $10-$30 range, they sounded pretty good by my standards. A big plus for these headphones. Although advertised as wireless, they feature a female input. With a male-to-male headphone cable (you can buy one here at Revain or Wal-Mart or most electronics stores I suppose) they still work as wired headphones. They are powered by a cord, so no batteries are needed. And should the cable ever become damaged, it is easy to replace. So now they're better for me than most wired headphones I've had. I find these headphones very comfortable. They do an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise and fit snugly around my ears without pressing my ears to my head. However, I recommend taking any comments about headphone comfort with caution, as different head sizes, ear sizes, general skin sensitivity, etc. can all have a significant impact on perceived comfort. my five star rating if I could confirm that the IR receiver was not to blame for my having to use them as wired headphones.
