Packaging issue, pump difficult to squeeze and control flow

1) Packaging would have been fine except the tubing was crumpled to fit the box. This means that after installation, although the hose hangs freely from the pump to the dishwashing detergent, instead of making nice curves, it will continue to fold in the folds of the hose, restricting liquid flow. Soap.2) Before even taking it out of the box, I squeezed the pump to check it was working. At first it took a lot of effort to put pressure on him. Thinking it would be better with soap, I installed it - easily and with no problems. On someone's advice I pumped up water first to make the job easier, then pumped up soap which worked fine. FURTHERMORE. The pump was initially difficult to press. Rather than pumping smoothly like you'd expect (like when you're given lotion etc) it took quite a bit of pressure to push it down - I'd estimate about double that of lotion. The pressure does nothing at first, then finally gives way, squirts a little and then pumps at will. 3) This is annoying in itself, but also makes it difficult to control the flow. Especially if you just want a drop of soap, which we sometimes do, rest assured that at least a few drops will be produced. We love being frugal and only want what we need. Lack of choice in this matter is unacceptable to us. TAKE - I bought a second one of these thinking the first one was an anomaly. Unfortunately not, it was like the first time. This pump is attractive and conveniently pumps dishwashing liquid, but don't plan on spending less. And if you don't initially like putting more pressure to make things work, you might not care.
