This kit includes everything you need to replace your toilet, from cistern screws, flush valve, fill valve and even a new handle. This is old technology that hasn't really changed in a hundred years, and although the materials have changed, the basic structure and operation have remained the same. The instructions are very clear and concise and make removing the toilet, installing new components, reinstalling the cistern and, believe it or not, adjusting the flush a breeze. I took my time with this but was done in about an hour. I bought the full kit first, although I only needed the flush valve at the time - the full kit only cost about $8 more than the flush valve alone, and given the likely age of the old components, I felt it was a wise investment; Buying the valves individually would double the cost. That turned out to be a good thing because within 2 days of ordering, the fill valve started working consistently. This kit was very beneficial. As much as I love supporting my little local hardware store, the same kit costs twice as much. The kit components are made of high quality PVC plastic and rubber with steel and brass nuts and bolts. The only real downside is that the replacement pen is 100% plastic and is lightweight and cheap. I bought a "genuine" replacement at my hardware store. Overall, since the components I replaced were similar kits from the same manufacturer, I'm hoping the flush will last at least ten years before the rubber seals fail.
