I bought these dies so my ratchet crimping tool can make some custom spark plug wires. The part of the jaws that squeezes the connector is fine. It took a few wires to perfect the "art" of it, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. They provide the perfect crimp required for end connectors. The area they bring down is that the cutting teeth should help strip the wire but not damage the core. First, they're sharp enough to cut through anything. Second, even at full compression, there is a gap where the edges of the jaws must meet. I ended up using a razor blade and a steady hand to cut and strip the wires. There are standalone tools for stripping spark plug wires. If you're making multiple sets of cables, it's probably a worthwhile investment.
