The watch works well. It keeps time well, is easy to read, and any ticking it makes is inaudible in the large hall in which it hangs. Due to their location high against the wall, previous clocks had us climbing stairs to change the batteries. That, plus the fact that a watch with a battery doesn't tell you exactly when the battery is dead, is why we looked for a plug-in watch and were glad we finally found one. The only downside is that we had more than usual. the number of thunderstorms this summer that caused the power to flicker or go out for a few minutes. When the power goes out, this clock stops and the power comes back, it restarts, but now it's lagging behind. So the ladder comes out so we can reset time. The clock doesn't seem to have room to put a battery for backup power. If only it were a watch with 5 stars.
