I've read that 3.2mm is the standard size for a fan. I used it to replace a missing rod for a pendant light. The size seemed right. If it wasn't accurate I couldn't tell if the increments are that small. Fits and works fine. I chose this kit over other options because I don't need 700 feet and I like the mounting options that come with it. One thing I didn't take into account is that I still need the real pendant to hang on the end of the chain. This would give it a finished look and make it easier to draw. I'll probably try to remake the bead or something.
