Are there better scan tools
This is the cheapest scan tool you can get with true bi-directional capabilities. Numerous diagnostic tests are possible along with the programming of keys and fobs. The instructions for programming i-Keys on the Rogue 2017 aren't exactly accurate, but they're close enough that after a few tries, you can figure out how to do it. Are there better scanning tools? Sure, but you'll spend almost twice as much to get to the next level. For a court mechanic, this tool is ideal given the low price.
