The instructions stated that pressing the hardware into the wall surface would leave indentations to mark where the wall anchors were to be placed. This is when you hold the loose bracket in your hand and press it into the wall. However, when the mount is screwed into the picture frame, the fully seated screws (which came with the kit) protrude farther than the mount and do not leave a mark when pushed into the wall. Instead, I had to take a lot of measurements. On a 6ft wide x 2ft high frame I used 3 top mounts and 2 bottom/fixed mounts. They seem to be holding up very well which is perfect for this frame which is in a high traffic area where it could get hit.
