I was looking for a system that would give me good bass but not rattle on the doors. I came up with a 10-inch Scosche truck box, a Pioneer TS-W254R subwoofer, a BOSS R1100M amplifier and a 1.5 farad Power Acoustic condenser. Only about $175 with taxes and free shipping, I couldn't be happier. My favorite feature would probably be the "remote" bass level control. Considering I'm approaching 30, I don't want my mirrors to shake all the time, and I don't want to get in the back of my truck to adjust the bass. Sometimes I just want full sound. The amp is probably overkill for that single 10 and the capacitor probably isn't needed. But for $25 it keeps my lights from dimming and helps me sleep at night knowing I won't kill my battery. Very happy! The capacitor comes with a small series resistor. This resistor should be connected between the main power supply and the positive terminal FOR INSTALLATION ONLY. The purpose is to slowly charge the capacitor to a full charge and not hit it so hard to charge it all once as soon as up to a volt remove the battery and supply the main current directly to the capacitor. Also, it is very difficult to tell which terminal is positive and which is negative. The symbols are on the inside of the most transparent plastic and are visible in the light.
