It's light and durable, has good sound, plenty of room for messages, lots of features and easy to use. It says it's shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof to a degree. Haven't used it in a downpour but I've dropped it a couple of times. Reminds of Nokia 3300 but for home use. The great thing about this phone is that you don't need an RJ phone plug for extensions. The base unit must be connected, but not the extension. I have a 3 story house and there is one on each floor and there is no cushioning. Even if the power fails, the expansions will work as long as the base unit is connected to the UPS. It also uses rechargeable AAA batteries, so you can replace them when they run out. The included batteries last about a year. I have three of these phones. These Siemens models haven't changed much in the 20 years I've been buying them, but they are reliable and mine can be used in 110/220 countries. But check your fork to make sure your model is 110/220. If you have a 110 you can easily find a 220 fork if needed. They have a universal DC plug for this.
