Enough platform to jump short distances by bike, like check brakes, ride down the street and whatever. You noticeably click into place. Even if you have 100% protection, you'll know you're stuck. It's very easy to get out. Reliable build quality. Never used clips. The first thing I noticed was that the acceleration was smoother with no harsh acceleration. Nice. Better workout, more muscle to work with, but in terms of speed, they're no better than flats. Lifting the weight with one foot takes the weight off the opposite stomping foot, allowing the pedals to balance the work straight. That being said, I will never go into apartments again. Love it!
