Good value bar stool. After reading many reviews I was hesitant to purchase this product but braced myself for all the "issues" that I found in the more negative reviews. The solution to the most common complaints was stripping the screws. I can see how this was a problem for the uninitiated. I just pulled out my trusty set of Craftsman hex wrenches. Yes, there seemed to be some stripping somewhere in the middle of the design, but I noticed that it was the one-off hex key that came with the kit and immediately started using the real tool and I had no problems with that after that tightening the screws. The second most frequently cited problem was "over-tightening" of the screws and "caps falling off". I simply coated each stud and hole cover with wood glue (really folks: gorilla glue? How sticky.). So far I haven't broken a single piece. The stool proved to be quite durable and overall a good purchase. I'm an older woman and I like to collect things from Ikea. I believe that if you have no experience of self-assembly, in the future try to buy a ready-made assembly. Update: It's been over a year since I bought it and no loose parts or things have fallen off. Use it on the bar all the time. Remember to use a good tool and some WOOD GLUE when assembling.
