Bought a brand new used like new. I got both and the new one was fine, the allen key that came with it technically did the job for the new but used one. I don't know WHO gave the green light, but look at how this piece of furniture looks, it hardly looks like the same stool. The original owner of the product completely mangled the frame and apparently used a hammer drill to drive all the screws THROUGH the legs, destroying the frame in the process. Update: After a few months of use a few times a week it started to shake. The screws are loose and need to be tightened. I bought this for my son to use when playing the double bass. The spacer seems to be good for this purpose. The assembly instructions were easy, but the screws were very difficult to insert and tighten by hand.
