I'm mad at myself for not giving more importance to negative and too many positive reviews. I paid at least $15 more to have the Cuisinart name on my counter and at my age I should have known better. What's wrong with this 4-cup coffee maker? Simply about everything. Right out of the box I spent fifteen minutes trying to figure out how to remove the decanter lid and I don't think I'm a stupid person! Then I had to fiddle with opening the lid of the kettle myself (it turns out to be a very tight closure, so I have to use my hands). What about directions? There is nobody who could help. I've always wanted a stainless steel carafe, but this one is the weight of a can, so it doesn't retain any heat at all. To refill my morning cup, I had to rush and gulp quickly because the device shuts off after ten minutes. No more leisurely sips while checking emails, I had to keep a close eye on the red light on the coffee maker when I wanted to refill. Does it make a good cup of tea? No better than Mr. Coffee for a third of the price. A cup of hot, delicious morning coffee is not a luxury, but an important start to the day. So weigh the cons with the pros and don't repeat my mistake. And to Cuisinart I just want to say: Shame on you!
