After much research I bought this microwave because I thought it would be stylish and durable. I have had other Cuisinart units and generally find them reliable and well made. Unfortunately this microwave is not available. I bought this microwave a year ago and immediately noticed that the button that opens the door is plastic and seems a little cheaply made, but the microwave worked fine. It wasn't as powerful and took longer to heat food than my previous cheap GE microwave of the same power, but I was fine with that. A week ago I pushed the button on my microwave to open the door and the door would not open. The door latch would not disengage. Now the microwave was unusable. I called support and was told my microwave was under warranty and "Congratulations!" I could pay to have it shipped to a facility in New Jersey and then pay for the repair at my own expense. When I asked why they didn't cover shipping and repairs, the customer service rep couldn't give me an answer. When I asked to have it replaced as the problem was obviously a broken part the customer service rep said they wouldn't do it that they could fix it instead but I would have to pay for everything. Finally, when I asked how much it would cost approximately to ship a Β£41 microwave both ways, in addition to the repair fees, customer service said they couldn't appreciate it and obviously didn't want to help. I'm pissed I spent almost $300 and my time on this microwave. I hate throwing it in the landfill but I will not invest another $200 in shipping + whatever it costs to have it fixed only to have to deal with such a worthless warranty again in the future. Buyer Warning.
