I had to replace the 10x loop we already have because my eyes are getting old and I need something stronger to check my fountain pen nibs for defects and a sewing machine needle to check their size to determine . I couldn't beat the price on this because I got two for the same price and the increase starts at 30x. What a difference in strength! I can turn the LED lights on and off as needed and both are very well protected in their packaging so I don't have to worry about them getting scratched in my desk drawer. I keep one with my fountain pens and the others on my sewing table. I'm going to give my husband the size 10 buttonhole we used to have in the workshop because I don't need it anymore.
