This adapter's pinout is wrong for microphone function with Kenwood 2 pin devices. It only provides functionality for the speaker/headphone of the hearing aid. If you know what you're doing you can modify it to provide microphone functionality (move the leftmost pin in the top row to the rightmost hole in the top row), but it's not necessary for an article claiming to have this function.
