I've been using the Braun JB9040BK TriForce Power Blender for a couple of weeks now solely for pureeing veggies for baby food. Although the blender is larger, its motor is enough to blend a large amount of food. For me I mixed braised carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes and it worked out just fine. I like the digital display with different options that allow you to make coarser or finer adjustments. The cleaning mode lasts 30 seconds and changes speed along the way, like many other higher-end blenders. I've been used to using Blendtec blenders for a long time and I feel like Braun is just as powerful. However, the Braun JB9040BK TriForce Power Blender uses 4 blades and has a sharper angle than the Blendtec. Blendtec blenders use 2 very blunt blades so they can be safely hand cleaned if needed. The brown isn't overly sharp, but it's not as dull as the Blendtec either. Another problem with the 4 blades is that they make it difficult to scoop out thicker purees that stick to the bottom. That being said, my Blendtec only holds 4 cups, while Braun has double the capacity at 8 cups. The extra capacity is good if you're trying to make 2 shakes at once. Also, it shouldn't be compared to cheap Black and Decker mixers, as these are entry-level mixers that are probably best suited for college use.
