works well, does not protect against odor at all

No seal or anything to prevent odors from escaping. It's also a great little portable/hidden ashtray. I love it. But if I used it for cigarettes I wouldn't be so happy. I use it to empty my pipe in it so the ash doesn't really smell like cigarette butts. I'm happy with that. I just expected it to be "smell proof". somehow tight.
