I was hoping that this filter would allow us to drink water straight from the bus taps and not buy bottled water. Our trainer arrived with a filter under the counter in the galley sink. We mistakenly assumed that the real filter element was already installed there on our first ride. Nobody told us to install it. So we thought: no wonder the water tastes so bad; We had no filter at all. So we decided to buy this Camco filter to mount on the outside of the spigot. We felt that using two filters in our setup would certainly improve the taste of our water. On our second trip we installed a filter cartridge under the counter and added this Camco filter on the outside. We ran plenty of water through them as stated and felt we would be fine. After the first two days of camping it was clear that neither this Camco filter on the outside nozzle nor the filter under the counter would work, even in tandem. My wife came home from the grocery store with bottled water. She hated the taste of our water. I spent another day drinking from the tap before joining her. It seems so pointless to lug around and throw away all those plastic bottles. FYI, we were hooked up to and drinking from public water near Tampa, Florida. In any case, there is no doubt that we need a better filter than this one. Water tastes like dirt.
