Oily goodness in a little stick :)

As an artist returning to drawing/painting after 26 years (family, career, etc.) I wanted to indulge in top quality oil pastels. I've been using chalk pastels for about a year and I'm a little scared of oil pastels. I heard they were just "big crayolas". With Sennelier oil pastels, this couldn't be further from the truth. With a slight shading you can easily rub the color into the paper/canvas. They are buttery soft and blend beautifully. I read that you can use turpentine to give them a different consistency. I have yet to try this as I am attending life drawing class 2 where no chemicals (e.g. gamsol, terpenoid etc) are allowed to be used. I plan to try this technique in due course. If you are considering purchasing this product, do not hesitate. yes they are expensive But isn't your work worth it? draw your piece Once you've decided on your shading/layout, get out some great oil pastels and CREATE. I highly recommend them.
