Over the years I've had to replace 3 of these on my old 1997 Cavalier and have dealt with them fairly well. My son is a freshman in college and we found a brand new 2000 Little Old Lady Cavalier and chose it as our first car. After 3 months the first speed of his fan motor stopped working so I knew what to do. I used to always buy OEM resistors but they broke after a few years. The problem is that condensation collects in the resistive circuit and burns out the rail. This one had a shrink cover over the circuitry that was supposed to make it more resistant to moisture. It appears to be a higher quality part than the OEM.
