I tried several USB KVM-like devices to see if they could meet my needs. Most didn't. I make video productions and use two workstations on one PC. A workstation manages the video and transmits it to a second workstation, which processes and records the video. This arrangement works pretty well, but it forces me to jump from computer to computer during a recording session to control their mice and keyboards. ÜnnLINK HDMI KVM Switch pretty much solved my problem and made video recording more efficient and easier. The Unnlink KVM Switch Block features mouse and keyboard input and four output ports. It includes USB 2.0 cables and a wired remote control. KVM has several disadvantages. KVM should skip unused ports. Many KVMs do just that, but not ÜnnLINK. This results in having to press the remote control more times than necessary to change the connection. This is the biggest disadvantage of the Unnlink KVM Switcher Box for my workflow. The small blue LEDs on the remote and main unit make it difficult to see which computer has been selected. Finally, the port information is presented in black relief on the black plastic body. Talk about needing a flashlight and magnifying glass just to figure out which port is which on KVM! I really wish the remote was wireless and not wired, but for the price, it's a very functional and useful KVM.
