Review on πŸ“· Capture Camera Clip V3 with Plate by Peak Design by Joshua Turner

Now essential

I have a Peak Design harness which I have used for a long time and it was nice but when in layered clothing and a hooded/collared jacket, plus backpack and hydration bag/- hose, the strap becomes quite annoying and gets in the way. Plus, it hits your hip while hiking, and rock climbing is a recipe disaster when it rocks like that. Half the time I'd still be holding the camera with one hand on my body, so what's the point of a strap anyway? However, this capture clip is simply amazing. I've taken it on a couple of trips and use it with a Pentax K-50 and a Peak Design everyday backpack (I don't know when I became a Peak Design devotee, but apparently it happened) and even a telephoto lens at the The camera is conveniently attached in a sock. I haven't felt the need to try the Pro Pad yet. I mostly just shoot where I walk or climb and with this clamp the camera always feels secure. I've also gotten to the point where I can detach/attach the camera from the clamp with one hand. Since then I have done without a strap and often take the backpack with me on short walks where I don't need it, just to have both hands free. Highly Recommended.

Pros
  • Camera mounts and clips
Cons
  • High price
