I have a Macbook Pro and wanted to connect a huge 49 inch monitor with a single cable while still getting the maximum resolution I needed. If your monitor doesn't have a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 compatible output, this task can be difficult. I have a Caldigit TS3+ that acts as an intermediary between my MBP and my monitor. I realized Thunderbolt cables don't come cheap. And you can't just buy any Thunderbolt cable for this purpose. It should be 4K 60Hz - 40Gbps. You cannot use a cable without this specification. I'm surprised to read some of the negative reviews about this brand. It has been highly recommended by monitor users on the Mac/Apple forums. In fact, this brand has been cited several times as one of the more reliable Thunderbolt 3 manufacturers. This cable has worked flawlessly for me for a few weeks now. Also, the connector is very durable as I'm constantly moving my laptop from my office monitor to my lap requiring me to constantly plug and unplug the cable. The connector seems very solid, which is a very important factor when considering a product like this. I can tell you from experience that this is a great cable that performs exceptionally well.
