Cannot play DVD. The problem is at the software level, so I can't blame the hardware. I'm still trying to figure out the resolution for this, but for now I can play music CDs again, so the job is half done. EDIT: Turns out it can play DVDs, but I have to use VLC. I have a virtual machine and it works fine on windows.
