Traditional string lights have a male end that fits into a socket and a female end that plugs into another string. Not these! They have two plug ends so you can plug in one end and get a very fun shock if you touch the other end when hit by 110v. There are 48 pieces per string and two spares on a separate 2 foot string. So only 50, not 52 as advertised. I still don't know how to replace them because the plastic cover comes off but the LED part stays in the socket. Finally, the wiring is actually taped in several places. I've never bought anything in my life that was sold with electrical tape wrapped around the middle of the wire. I didn't open it to see what a fun surprise the china had sent us underneath. One star because they are really pretty and very bright when connected. I was afraid to leave them on for more than 30 seconds because this is the only house we own - no spares if it catches fire.
