I purchased this pattern solely for coats and am very happy with the finished project. I am new to sewing (only 2 weeks) and found the pattern and sewing instructions easy to understand. I changed the pattern, shortened the coat and removed the sleeves, ruffles and lining and it turned out exactly as I hoped. I used fleece for the fabric, although it wasn't on the list, and the finished 'vest' fitted. All in all a great product! Advantages: 1. Simple and easy to use2. Customizable for design needs3. Unregistered substances can be used4. Size measurements are accurate Cons: 1. The pattern paper is a bit flimsy, but I think everyone is. I used a fusible pad to make mine more durable.
