Keeps what it promises

I needed a 500 GB heat sink for my Samsung 970 EVO+. It met all the requirements. I went with the larger of the two heatsinks (I wasn't aware that each heatsink is used on its own) and it runs noticeably cooler. Under load I see a temperature drop of 5-15°C. Before installing the heatsink, temperatures hovered around 70°C during the 5x1GiB test with CrystalDiskMark. It now peaked at 64°C during the 5x8GiB test. My system has two fans in the front and one in the back, so the heatsink probably gets some extra airflow. Installation was fairly easy, if a bit fiddly. There are no instructions included, so you'll have to go back to the list. It was quite difficult to remove the protective plastic from the thermal pads and install them. The included screwdriver doesn't quite fit the screws, but it works. Overall I am very happy with what I got for my money. Everything you need is included and everything seems to be of good quality. I will say that the larger cooler was red instead of black, which I put down to a shipping or storage error rather than an actual product quality issue. EDIT: One of the pics shows you can get a red heatsink. . I find this a bit annoying as the red heatsink doesn't look right on some builds, but for the price I'm still happy with it.

Pros
  • Durable workmanship
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
