Those aluminum valve stem caps are a problem waiting for us. Of course they look great, feel comfortable and fit perfectly. The main problem with them and all metal valve stem caps (which unfortunately I didn't know about until now) is that over time they start to cause a brassy reaction on the valve stems themselves and for lack of a better term "BREAK" together due to corrosion , which occurs between two different metal surfaces that are in contact with each other for a long period of time. I'm not sure if you can avoid this by applying material or a coating to the stems before installing these caps, or by taking them off and on from time to time, or rotating them on different tires to do this impede. "...The absolute worst thing about this 'fusion' is that you literally can't get the caps off no matter how hard you try to twist them. You can bring Bruce Banner in and give him the HULK on them, and they won't budge. Eventually you'll either have to cut them off or heat the aluminum very gently with a blowtorch and hope that as the metal expands there will be constant heat that will break the bond between the cap and the stem. Otherwise you're SOL! So cosmetically they are great however practical use is not suggested DO NOT USE METAL CAPS - THEY ALL HAVE THAT "MELT" REACTION C. I am in no way criticizing this product or company. The product itself is a quality product and if If it hadn't burned out I would use it again and again on any vehicle, bike or anything with a valve stem until I got tired of it.Unfortunately this is a problem that v is caused by mother nature and natural reactions.
