When we received this collar we knew our dog would have to grow for it - I had no idea how much. The excess length of the strap had to be cut off (see photo) because he kept poking Bane's ear (which must have irritated him). Cutting the extra length wasn't a problem, just be careful of the size you order. Unfortunately we have had this collar for a little over a month and it is already starting to wear out. Our dog is active but only wears a collar outside - and we live in the middle of winter so you can imagine he doesn't spend much time outside. It's definitely still usable, but all the wear and tear isn't very aesthetic. However, we got this collar because we wanted a belt-like buckle, not a zipper (which Bain pulled out earlier). The buckle itself seems very strong and if you have a dog that doesn't exercise much and doesn't seem to be growing anymore then this collar might be for you.
