This head was designed specifically for the 1 1/16" oil guides that GM and some other manufacturers have been using for years. It is designed to fully support the outer casing of the rounded guide, instead of sharp ones Corners like a typical nut or bolt.I have seen transmitters damaged with a conventional head although in most cases this can be successfully done.It also has thinner walls than most conventional heads which is a must if a shipment being swapped out on GM 5.3 liter engines.
