This mattress topper is better than others in its price range. This not only feels pleasant, but also does not make the mattress particularly hot. Because the topper is not cotton, it will make you sleep a little hotter. However, it can be argued that you bought it for protection and reassurance, not cooling. It folds like a sheet and has deep pockets. Our 14.5 inch mattress was easily covered with it. Although 15 inches seems to be the limit as to how deep it can go. This mattress topper is also very effective. Within the first week we had a spill caused by a leaking heating pad. The protector and sheets were wet, but the mattress itself was as dry as a dessert. I also like how quiet it is. Compared to other laminate-covered treads, Coop has a very soft laminate that feels almost like thin foam rubber (may actually be foam rubber). This means that there are no mixing noises. Not a single rustle that we've noticed with other mattress pads. We haven't washed it yet so I can't vouch for how well it's holding up.
