This is a great way to connect smoke alarms to another system, be it an alarm system, a computer or something else. With a little knowledge of electrical engineering, you can hook up lights or strobe lights, remote dialers, whatever you want. According to the instructions, you can also use it to trigger an alarm, e.g. B. a fire switch in public buildings. connected alarm clocks! VICTORY!) and hooked it up to the alarm input of a pan/tilt internet camera (many of the popular ones in the $60 range have alarm inputs) and now I can get an email or text message when those alarms go off. The only small downside is that the relay doesn't work without AC power, but neither my camera nor the internet works during a power outage. I am very happy that Kidde is providing this device instead of leaving the system in their possession. Very easy to use. Plug in the power and interconnect wire, then you have a normally open relay, a normally closed relay, and a 9V low current output (I think) for whatever.
