This filter fulfills its main purpose: filtering water. That being said, most people will be happy with it. The biggest complaint I have is how hard you have to suck to actually drink. The filter doesn't use gravity to filter the water, instead relying on you to force water through a multi-stage filter by sucking it in through a straw. The amount of effort it takes to drink a trickle of water makes me wonder if this was really a good buy. I was very disappointed several times when I was very thirsty and just wanted to drink the water as fast as possible but have to drink very slowly, drop by drop, what comes out of the straw. The filter also takes up a lot of space in the bottle itself and the straw doesn't even reach the bottom of the bottle. In my standard 32-ounce Nalgene, the straw ends at the 4-ounce mark, which means I always have to splash around with some water that I can't filter or drink. However, if you don't mind the hassle or volume loss, the filter does a really good job of filtering the water it's designed for.
