Tactile pleasure and even comfortable.

Nice colors and nice finishes and a solid feel from a good metal body make it a pleasure to use. It's easy to have and keep, but also very useful. For some pencils that are difficult to sharpen, there may be better options, but they can easily cost $10 or more each. Not only is the larger hole for plumper pens, but if held carefully it can give a shorter and stronger tip for a regular pen - see the right hand pin in my attached picture. Plus erasers! highlighted.
