I installed it in the copper hot and cold water pipes that feed the hose in my garage. I needed to replace leaking check valves in these lines and decided to also fix the backflow problem caused by this fixture. Without check valves in these lines, cold and hot water would mix and flow back to other appliances in my house, making them deliver warm water instead of hot or cold. This only happened when the hose was used in the garage with both shutoff valves open. These check valves solved the problem. This is my first experience with these connectors. They were very easy to install and didn't leak water. I considered using check valves, which have to be soldered in, but I was afraid I might overheat and damage them during installation. I'm very glad I decided to try them out. They were easier to install and less expensive. Longevity remains to be seen, but with the plumbing securely attached to the wall I don't see any leaking issues in the future.
